House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda has emerged as the top choice of Filipinos among the senatorial candidates for the May 2022 elections, based on the lateset OCTA Research survey.
Legarda, who is seeking a Senate comeback in the upcoming polls got the nod of 69 percent of a total 1,200 respondents in a nationwide survey conducted from March 5 to 10.
The respondents, all registered voters and from all social classes, were specifically asked to choose up to 12 senatorial bets whom they will vote for in the senatorial elections.
Legarda is followed by former public works secretary Mark Villar ranking 2nd at 66 percent, re-electionist Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri at 3rd with 65 percent, Sorsogon governor Francis “Chiz” Chiz Escudero at 4th place with 63 percent, broadcaster Raffy Tulfo at 5th with 62 percent, and former House speaker and senator Alan Peter Cayetano at 6th place with 55 percent voter preference.
Other six candidates who made it to the winning circle of the OCTA survey are former senator JV Ejercito and actor Robin Padilla; followed by former vice president Jejomar Binay and re-electionist Sen. Win Gatchalian.
Former senator Jinggoy Estrada and re-electionist Sen. Joel Villanueva also got into the “Magic 12.”
Close to the top 12 are reeelectionist Sen. Risa Hontiveros, former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, returning Sen. Gringo Honasan , and former defense secretary Gibo Teodoro.
