Lacson continues to receives messages of solidarity, support from Mindanao
Presidential candidate Panfilo ‘Ping M. Lacson has no reason to be bothered about losing support in Mindanao despite getting betrayed by some members of his former political party, as he continues to receive messages of solidarity and sustained backing coming from the region.
Ahmad Sambitory Bubong, the provincial coordinator of Partido Reporma in Lanao del Sur, recently posted on his personal Facebook account that he had also quit the party to follow the lead of Lacson whom he credited as the reason behind his decision to join the organization in the first place.
Bubong took his oath of membership before Partido Reporma president and former House Speaker Pantaleon ‘Bebot’ Alvarez sometime in October 2021. He has since been designated as provincial coordinator for the party in Lanao del Sur.
He said he became a Partido Reporma member because his ultimate idol (Lacson) became Partido’s candidate and his running mate Senate President Vicente ‘’Tito’’ C. Sotto III.
‘’But a lot of people are also aware that your membership grew because my idol (Lacson) became your candidate,’’ he added.
Bubong said he thanks Partido Reporma anyway for letting him play a role in the ongoing presidential campaign of Lacson, which he plans to continue together with his wife, Jasmine. “Ang aking loyalty ay kay Sen. Ping Lacson (My loyalty is with Senator Ping Lacson),” he assured.
The Iligan City-based fellow is now identifying himself with the BRAVE Movers, an organization that is actively campaigning for Lacson nationwide and his flagship Budget Reform Advocacy for Village Empowerment (BRAVE) program.
Bubong has been enthusiastically sharing photos of himself, his friends and family members to express their genuine support for the senator, attaching the hashtags #LacsonPaRin in his posts, and tagging the other Facebook pages associated with the presidential campaign of Lacson. He also proudly calls himself the ‘Lacson of Lanao.’
Lacson resigned as chairman and member of Partido Reporma last Thursday, March 24, after Alvarez as well as party secretary-general and Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib decided to support the candidacy of another presidential candidate.
In a series of media interviews, Alvarez clarified that he could only commit the votes coming from their province in Davao del Norte, and he has no intention to force other members of Partido Reporma to support their new presidential candidate.
