In line with the celebration of Women's Month, the Department of Agrarian (DAR) conducted a five-day trade fair for farmers' organizations nationwide to help them promote their agricultural products.
Aside from promoting farm products, DAR Support Services Office Undersecretary Emily Padilla said that the agency also celebrates the empowerment of women in the agricultural sector.
"This trade fair is in support of our ARBOs where women also play a huge role in producing high-quality agricultural products. Let us patronize their products and show our farmers' exceptional products to other people," Padilla said in a statement on Tuesday, March 29.
She added that the agency also conducted a week-long health and wellness program for its women personnel and employees. Moreover, a TikTok challenge in line with the event's theme We Make Change Work For Women" was participated by 44 DAR offices nationwide.
"All of these events aim to inspire and contribute to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women," Padilla said.
The trade fair will run until April 1 at DAR's main office on Elliptical road in Diliman, Quezon City.
