TACLOBAN CITY -- Vice President Leni Robredo is set to start her sortie in Eastern Visayas today (March 28), and will include the vote-rich Samar Island, the country’s third largest island.
Robredo and her entourage went directly to Calbayog City (Western Samar) and spoke with supporters and campaign volunteers, before heading for Catbalogan City.
Robredo then proceeds to Northern Samar for a meeting with Governor Edwin Ongchuan and local officials at the capital town of Catarman.
In line with her advocacy to hear the issues and concerns of the masses, the vice president will also hold a dialogue with representatives of various sectors.
Capping the Vice President’s Northern Samar swing is a grand rally at the University of Eastern Philippines Grandstand.
Samar Island, comprising three provinces – Northern, Eastern, and Samar (Western Samar) -- is among the vote-rich areas in the country, with a combined voting population of almost 1.4 million.
On March 29, the presidential aspirant will also hold rallies in Leyte and Eastern Samar.
She will complete her Eastern Visayas tour with a stop in Southern Leyte on March 30.
