Prayer is the most fundamental act of peace – Cardinal Advincula
"True peace is heaven’s gift to earth,” a Church leader said during the recent Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for Russia and Ukraine.

His Eminence Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula cited the importance of prayer in attaining peace in the world.
"Prayer is the most fundamental act of peace building because true peace is heaven's gift to earth. Peace can only come from God. It cannot be produced by mere human achievement,” the prelate said.
Cardinal Advincula said the world shares in the suffering of all those affected by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. He appealed to the faithful to continue to pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness especially for those who had become insensitive and indifferent to the suffering of other people.
The Archdiocese of Manila and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines joined the Holy Father during the recent Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the restoration of peace in Russia and Ukraine.
“We need God if we want lasting peace for all. We need God to offer us the peace that this world cannot give. True and genuine peace is one that is beneficial to all,” the cardinal said as he stressed that dialogue and not violence is the solution.
