Ruffy Biazon of One Muntinlupa political party has topped two election surveys in the race for mayor in Muntinlupa while his party mate and incumbent Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac took the lead in one.
PUBLICUS SURVEY
Polling firm Publicus released the results of its Pahayag NCR Tracker Survey held from March 16 to 21 among 1,648 registered Filipino voters in Metro Manila.
Among the 17 local government units in the NCR, 100 respondents were asked in each of the 16 cities in Metro Manila and 48 in Pateros for their preferences for mayor and vice mayor in their respective areas. The survey’s implied margin of error is plus or minus 10 percent for city results and 14 percent for Pateros.

The latest survey showed that Biazon placed first with 49 percent followed by independent candidate Nelson Benjamin, 12 percent; Red Marinas of the People’s Reform Party (PRP), 11 percent; and independent candidate Oscar Marmeto, two percent.
Biazon’s total was down from 55 percent in the Feb. 18 to 24 survey. But the latest results also showed that Benjamin overtook Marinas for second place. Benjamin got five percent in February, which rose to 12 percent in March.
Marinas, who placed second in February with 16 percent, fell to third place with 11 percent. The undecided voters totaled 24 percent, up from 23 percent in February.
On the other hand, it is a close race for vice mayor of Muntinlupa. In the latest survey, Simundac placed first with 37 percent, down from his first-place finish of 39 percent in the February survey.
His rival, PRP’s Oyo Boy Dioko, placed second with 33 percent in March, up from 29 percent in February.
Simundac and Dioko have a gap of four percentage points and with the survey’s margin of error of 10 percent, the two are statistically tied for first place. In addition, the undecided voters are 28 percent who could decide the race either way.
RPMD survey in NCR
The RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) also released its survey in the National Capital Region.
The NCR Boses ng Bayan 2022 election survey was conducted from March 15-21, 2022 among 10,000 registered voters aged 18 to 65 in the NCR. The number of respondents was proportional to the number of voters per city and reallocated per barangay based on the number of voters. The margin of error was plus or minus one percent.

According to the latest RPMD survey for mayor of Muntinlupa, Biazon got 76 percent while Marinas received 22 percent. In the February survey, Biazon got 74 percent while Marinas had 25 percent.
