Team Pacquiao ready to help people affected by Taal unrest

Aspiring president Senator Manny Pacquiao on Saturday, March 26 is worried over the state of residents living near Taal Volcano after its latest activity triggered alert level 3 status.

Pacquiao in a statement urged the public to pray "for the safety of people surrounding Taal volcano" while assuring he and his team "are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to mobilize support if needed".

"Nawa’y muling humupa ang mga pagbuga ng makapal ng usok at hindi na ito hahantong sa mapinsalang pagsabog (I hope that its thick smoke would lessen and it would no longer lead to a destructive eruption)," he said.

Nonetheless, the lawmaker said he has full confidence that both the national and local governments are prepared to do whatever is necessary.

He also wished that the public would cooperate with any order issued by authorities to ensure the safety of the people.
