'Shabu' worth P34M seized from two cousins

CEBU CITY -- More than P30 million worth of suspected shabu were seized from two young men in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ermita here past midnight Saturday, March 26.

Shelljay Cuyno and Dennis Centino, both 24 years old, were arrested by operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit.

Police said the two suspects, who are cousins, were listed as high-value individuals in the regional level.

Seized from the two suspects were packs of suspected shabu weighing 5.1 kilos with an estimated value of P34,850,000, police said.

Police Major Jonathan Taneo, chief of the operating team, said they were able to corner the two suspects after they agreed to sell 125 grams of shabu to a poseur-buyer.

Taneo said the two suspects later revealed that they got their supply of shabu from one Pastor Gonzales.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspects, police said.
