Team Tuloy ang Progreso,Valenzuela! holds 'Leaders' Assembly' kick-off rally
The team “Tuloy ang Progreso, Valenzuela!” led by city mayoral candidate Deputy Speaker Wes Gatchalian, on Thursday, March 24, held the “Leaders’ Assembly” event as a kick off rally for the start of the local election campaign on March 25.
The event was held at the Plastic City Clubhouse in Barangay Canumay at around 7:30 p.m. where the team presented their candidates for the elections.
Gatchalian thanked his constituents for their support to his family and said that he is prepared to replace the city’s current mayor if he wins the leader’s post.
“Dahil sa tatlong termino at siyam na taon na paglilingkod sa ating mahal na lungsod, masasabi ko pong napakarami nating natutunan. Ang maturity level po natin, ay talaga hong umangat ho (Because in the three terms and nine years of service to our beloved city, I can say that we learned a lot. Our maturity level also increased),” he said.
He cited his brothers Senator Win and incumbent Mayor Rex Gatchalian for their accomplishments in contributing to the city's progress. He said that through the help of the people and his team, he will be able to bring Valenzuela to its next chapter.
“Hindi naman po sa akin importante ang titulo na tawaging punong lungsod. Hindi rin po sa akin importante ang kapangyarihan na kaakibat po ng posisyon na ito or benepisyo na kaakibat po ng posisyon na to. Ang importante sa ating lahat po ay ang tiwala ng taong bayan ( For me, to be called as the city mayor is not important, as well as the power and benefits that go with it. What is important to us is the people’s trust), he added.
Gatchalian’s running-mate is incumbent Vice-mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja.
Also running under the team Tuloy ang Progreso, Valenzuela! for District 1 are - incumbent Mayor Rex Gatchalian for congressman; Marlon Alejandrino; Attorney Bimbo Dela Cruz; Ramon Encarnacion; Ricarr Enriquez; Cris Feliciano; GhoGo Deato Lee for councilors; District 2 - Rep. Eric Martinez for congressman; Chiqui Carreon; Gerald Galang; Nina Lopez; Mickey Pineda; Sel Sabino Sy; Councilor Louie Nolasco for councilors.
