South Built yields to Paper Rex, drops to lower bracket of APAC Challenger
Singapore-based team Paper Rex proved to be too much for South Built Esports, posting a 2-0 win over the Filipino team in their upper bracket quarterfinals meeting on Thursday, March 24.

Indonesian player Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto came out guns ablaze for Paper Rex as he led the way in the two-game sweep with monster 31 kills in the opening map in Haven while 25 kills in the series clinching game using his signature agent Jett.
The Filipinos actually had a good start in the series, racing to an early 8-4 lead on the attacking side in the first half in its own map pick in Haven. Paper Rex however had SBE in check after the switch as it dominated the Filipinos 9-1 to nab the first point of the series 13-9.
Johnty “JA” Arone paced SBE with 22 kills on the Astra in Game 1.
SBE tried to regain foothold after taking the first two rounds in the second map in Split but Paper Rex retaliated with five straight rounds of its own. The top seed in Group B rode the momentum en route to a dominant 9-3 advantage in the first half.
The PH bets managed to keep in step with PRX players after the switch but the lead was just too big to overcome for the Filipinos.
Azis “Azys” Nandang tried to carry the Filipinos in his shoulders with 16 kills on the Raze but wasn’t enough as the Singaporeans took an even 4-4 round in the second half, enough to close out the series with a 13-7 victory in the second map.
With the loss, SBE got dropped to the lower bracket where it is set to face Indonesian team Boom Esports. Boom also lost via 2-0 sweep against Xerxia in their upper bracket match.
Should SBE prevail, it will face Full Sense in the second round of the lower bracket.
