PH must take a stand over Russia-Ukraine war to avoid unfavorable consequences in the future--Robredo
Aspiring president Vice President Leni Robredo believes that the Philippines must take a stand and should not remain neutral over Russia's invasion into Ukraine.

During the "Kandidatalks" presidentiables series, Robredo said it is crucial for the country to take a stand over the ongoing war or else it will cause unfavorable consequences in the future.
"Hindi ako agree na mag-neutral tayo kasi klaro yung pagpipilian mo ngayon, e (I don't agree with our decision to remain neutral because our choices now are very clear)," Robredo said.
The Vice President said the country must stay true to its beliefs that "international conflicts are resolved through the rule of law." Thus, it must do away from remaining neutral amid the war.
"ayo (Us), as a country na naniniwala na yung (who believes that) rule of law dapat ang mamayani (should prevail), should take a stand. Kailangan tayo mag-take ng stand kasi papano kung tayo yung nasa position ng Ukraine (We need to take a stand because what if we were in Ukraine's position)?" Robredo said.
"Hindi tayo mag-take ng stand ngayon (If we don't take a stand now), 'pag kailangan na natin yung ibang bansa (if the time comes that we need other countries) to help us, wala sa'ting tutulong kasi nung oras ng kagipitan hindi natin in-assert yung ating paniniwala (no one will help us because in times of emergency, we did not assert our beliefs)," Robredo added.
While the country's stand remains neutral over the war, it expressed support for the United Nations (UN) Resolution condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The aspiring president said she agrees with the move to rally behind the resolution and believes it was the right thing to do.
She also commended the efforts of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. for being on the frontlines of evacuating Filipinos in Ukraine when the war began.
