Gov't to conduct 'special' vax days on March 29 to April 1 in select areas

The government is set to conduct special Covid-19 vaccination days on March 29 to April 1 in some areas in a bid to further increase the country's vaccine coverage.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the special vaccination days will be conducted in Central Visayas and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
"Meron na po tayong mga nakatalagang mga dates kung saan magkakaroon ng bayanihan, bakunahan or special focus vaccination sa March 29 to 31 po---meron tayong targeted vaccination sa Cebu or sa Region 7 (We already have set dates for the bayanihan, bakunahan or special focus vaccination on March 29 to 31 in Cebu or Region 7)," she said during the Malacanang press briefing on Friday, March 25.
"And on March 30, 31, and April 1 we have special vaccination days in BARMM," she added.
Some healthcare workers will be deployed in the said areas to help in the vaccination, said Vergeire.
"Pupunta po ang ating mga deployed teams para matulungan po natin ang mga regions na ito upang tumaas po ang antas ng pagbabakuna (Our deployed teams will come to these areas to help these regions to increase their level of vaccination)," she said.
As of March 24, about 65 million Filipinos were already fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The government is targeting to vaccinate 90 million Filipinos by the end of June.
