The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday, March 24, warned the public against unofficial Facebook pages using its name to offer false services.
In an advisory, PRC said unofficial Facebook pages bearing the name of PRC are claiming to offer assistance to professionals on the renewal of their Professional Identification Cards (PICs) for a fee.
"The PRC follows procedures and processes as stated in its Citizen's Charter and disclaims all representations which are reportedly extended by the said Facebook pages," PRC said.
The Commission advised the public to refer to the PRC Citizen's Charter posted on the PRC website on the requirement and timelines of the release of relevant documents.
PRC assured the public to take measures to protect the public from false information and services provided by unauthorized individuals, groups, or entities.
For accurate and reliable information, PRC urged the public to follow its official Facebook and Twitter pages, and check its official website.
