PAGASA: Warm, fair weather over most of PH due to easterlies

The easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will continue to bring a fair and humid weather over most of the country, the State weather bureau said on Thursday, March 24.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Obet Badrina said that the dominant weather system over most parts of the Philippines is still easterlies.

“Easterlies pa rin ang nakakaapekto sa malaking bahagi ng bansa at ito po ay magdadala ng pulu-pulong pag-ulan at pagkidlat sa hapon hanggang sa gabi. Generally ay maaliwalas pa rin ang ating panahon sa ating bansa maliban na lang sa isolated rains (Easterlies still affect most parts of the country and it will bring isolated rains and thunderstorms in the afternoon until evening. Generally, our country will still experience fair weather except for isolated rains),” said Badrina in a public weather forecast.

These isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, according to Badrina, may only last for about 30 minutes to one hour.

Meanwhile, Batanes and Babuyan Islands may experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeasterly surface windflow.

No low pressure area (LPA) or any weather disturbance is expected to develop or affect the country in the next three days, said Badrina.
