Operatives from the Taguig police and Southern Police District (SPD) arrested a most wanted person who is facing murder charges and four persons for illegal drugs in Taguig on March 22 and 23.
On March 23, the Taguig police’s Warrant and Subpoena Unit arrested Renante Caraga, 45, listed as SPD’s top 11 most wanted person for the first quarter of 2022 for murder.

Caraga was nabbed during an operation along Yanson Street, Barangay Upper Bicutan. A warrant of arrest with no bail recommended was issued against Caraga for murder by Judge Bernard Bernal of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 70 dated Oct. 26, 2021.
The suspect is now detained at the Taguig police’s custodial facility pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court of origin.
Meanwhile, SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg announced the seizure of P221,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and the arrest of four suspects in Taguig on March 22.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by the SPD Drug Enforcement Unit at 20-A Kalayaan St., Barangay Ususan, Taguig.
The arrested suspects were identified as Leonard De Vera, 34; Ericson Baribar, 33; Bernardo Yadao, 4; and Patria Anne Victorino, 23.
Confiscated during the operation were eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 32.5 grams with a value of P221,000 and P500 buy-bust money.
The suspects were brought to SPD for documentation and disposition while cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against them.The drugs turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
“I commend the successful buy-bust operation conducted by our men which led to the apprehension of these drug peddlers and confiscation of illegal drugs. We assure you that we will not sit back, instead we will continue to conduct more aggressive anti-illegal drug operations in the attainment of our mission to make the Southern Metro free from illegal drugs as well as all our fight against all forms of criminality,” said Macaraeg.
