A three-year-old child died in a fire that gutted six homes in Caloocan City on Wednesday, March 23.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Public Information Office, the fire was raised to first alarm at around 1:30 p.m. and was declared under control at around 1:56 p.m. It was extinguished at around 2 p.m.
Caloocan City Fire Station (CCFS) Fire Officer 3 (F03) Mark Vincent Severino told Manila Bulletin that the victim’s burnt body was found at the second floor of their house.
He added that based on initial investigation, the child was playing with his six-year-old cousin in their room when the fire broke out.
The six-year-old was able to escape but his cousin was trapped inside leading to his death.
Probers placed an estimated P80,000 damage to property with 27 affected individuals.
Severino said that they are still investigating the cause of the fire which was believed to have originated from the second floor of the victim’s house.
