2 women yield P374-K worth of suspected illegal drugs in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY - A senior citizen and her companion were arrested after they allegedly yielded P374,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust at Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay 30 here on Tuesday.

Police operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) caught Zenaida Samudio, 47, and her companion Erlinda Ubas, 65, with 55 grams of suspected illegal drugs in their possession. Both are residents of Barangay 30.

Considering the amount of the illegal drugs found in the suspects’ possession, Lt. Joeven Mogato, CDEU head, said both can be considered high value individuals.

Mogato said that Samudio was arrested for a drug offense in 2015 and was released six years later after serving her sentence.

Ubas was arrested in 2018 for the same offense and was later released through plea bargaining. She is currently under probation, according to Mogato.

The two arrested individuals have yet to be reached for comment. They are detained at Police Station 6.
