There are 18,023 local seats that are up for grabs in the May 2022 polls, and 845 of them are unopposed.

Based on the data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) the 18,023 seats are the following: 253 for Member, House of Representatives; 81 for Provincial Governor; 81 for Provincial Vice Governor; 782 for Member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan; 1,634 City/Municipal Mayor; 1,634 City/Municipal Vice Mayor; and 13,558 for City/Municipal Councilors.
The number of unopposed candidates are the following: 39 for Member, House of Representatives; 9 for Provincial Governor; 11 for Provincial Vice Governor; 45 for Member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan; 203 City/Municipal Mayor; 254 City/Municipal Vice Mayor; and 284 for City/Municipal Councilors.
The data is as of Feb. 12, 2022.
The Comelec released the data in time for the start of the campaign period for local candidates on March 25.
