P482,000 worth of marijuana seized from nabbed call center agent

LAGUNA -- A call center agent who was found in possession of less than half-a-million pesos worth of marijuana was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in San Pablo City in this province.

Laguna Police provincial director Col. Rogarth Campo identified the suspect as Donn Anthony Amante Delgado, 26, a resident of Brgy. San Lucas 2, in San Pablo City, Laguna. The suspect was arrested as he tried to sell illegal drugs to a police officer who acted as a buyer in exchange for P2,000 worth of drugs.

The police team composed of Laguna Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of San Pablo City Police Station, and 3rd MP 1st Laguna Provincial Mobile Force Company confiscated the marijuana leaves worth P482,000 at around 10:07 pm on Tuesday at Barangay San Rafael in San Pablo City.

A preventive search led to the confiscation of five bricks containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and seeds wrapped with transparent plastic, a digital weighing scale, and drug money.

The suspect will be charged for violation of R.A 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, and the seized pieces of evidence will be submitted to the Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination.
