Releasing the Superbod in you: Century Tuna Superbods 2022

Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards

Every two years, as the days get longer and warmer, with Summer marking it’s arrival on our calendar; it’s good to know that the Century Tuna Superbods is heading our way. And for 2022, the timely message is ‘Stay strong to love strong’.

From previous Superbods iterations which were more about staying healthy to look sexy, this year's slogan is one that is more thoughtful, and takes into consideration how we’ve been dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 situation over the last two years. As CPFI COO & EVP Greg Banzon reminded all of us, “The pandemic served as our catalyst to further our objective of inspiring Filipinos to live a healthy lifestyle. It provided an opportunity for us to emphasize that we need to take care of ourselves so we can support others.”

This message certainly resonates with so many Filipinos today. And to spearhead and inspire us to join this fitness competition, Century Tuna turned to certified showbiz royalty, in the persons of Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards. Both Bea and Alden know the value of staying strong and healthy, especially during these times. And it’s not only for personal reasons, but so that they can achieve their dreams and aspirations for their loved ones. From a young age, Bea has been the breadwinner of her family, while Alden entered show business to fulfill his late mother’s wish, and now provides hope for young scholars.

Bea has had numerous high-profile projects, and now flaunts her fit figure to provide inspiration for all. “This is a dream brand endorsement. I was both very excited and nervous while doing the shoot, as it’s my first time to represent the brand… I appreciate the fact that the campaign message is not just about being sexy, but really being healthy in all aspects, which I personally believe in and live by. I am humbled and honored to have been given the opportunity to inspire Filipinos to stay strong and healthy with Century Tuna, so we can take care of the ones we love.”

For Alden, “This year's message really resonates with me. My supporters know that I care very much for my family and the scholars under the AR Foundation. It’s a message that we all can relate to, especially now that we are all trying to recover from the pandemic.”
