According to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, the migrant worker was found dead inside her room on March 14.

Authorities ruled it as a suicide.

The Philippine Embassy said the OFW was identified as Gladys Olarte Fong. She was found dead inside her room in Al-Salam Area, Kuwait City.

It was disclosed that her body was discovered when police broke into her room after it was reported that she had not been coming out since morning that day.

"Police were called as Ms. Fong has not come out of her room since morning of the said day. Police had to break open the door to her room to gain entry," the DFA said in a statement released on Tuesday, March 22.

"Initial police reports state that the manner of death is consistent with suicide. Complete and comprehensive forensics were undertaken, and we are waiting for the results thereof," the department added.

The Foreign Affairs department assured that the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is "closely monitoring the case."
