Easterlies prevail across PH, isolated rains may occur, PAGASA says

Easterlies or the warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean still affects the country, the State weather bureau said on Tuesday, March 22.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Ana Clauren said that the dominant weather system across the country is the easterlies.

“Easterlies ang nakakaapekto sa malaking bahagi ng bansa. Dala nito ang mainit at maalinsangan na panahon lalo na ngayong hapon at mamayang gabi partikular na sa eastern section ng southern Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao (Easterlies affects a huge part of the country. It may bring hot and humid weather, especially this afternoon and tonight particularly in the eastern section of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao),” said Clauren in a public weather forecast.

Several parts of Zamboanga and northern Mindanao may experience isolated thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, according to Clauren, there is a low chance of rainfall in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

No weather disturbance is seen to neither develop nor affect the country in the next three to five days, Clauren added.
