‘Business Proposal’ star Kim Sejeong, ‘Running Man’ Jeon So-min test positive for Covid-19


More Korean stars have tested positive for Covid-19 as the surge of cases continues in South Korea due to the highly contagious Omicron variant.

Korean drama “Business Proposal” star Kim Sejeong, “Running Man” regular and actress Jeon So-min and K-pop boy band Verivery member Dongheon have been diagnosed with Covid-19.

“On the 22nd , our artist Kim Sejeong tested positive for the Covid-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test,” said Jellyfish Entertainment, the singer and actress’ agency.

It added, “Kim Sejeong recently tested positive in a rapid antigen test conducted as a preemptive response, and performed additional PCR tests to confirm the final positive result.”

The agency said Kim Sejeong is fully vaccinated and has finished all the filming for “Business Proposal,” which currently airs on SBS and is streamed on Netflix.

“Currently, Kim Sejeong has suspended all her schedules and is following the quarantine authorities' guidelines, focusing on her treatment and recovery,” it said.

As a result, her “Sejeong’s World Diary” fan meeting scheduled to be held on March 26 in South Korea has been postponed.

On the other hand, Jeon So-min was also diagnosed with Covid-19.

"Jeon So-min tested positive for Covid-19 on March 18 and is currently receiving treatment at home, and will be released from quarantine on March 24,” said her agency, King Kong by Starship, referring to the seven-day isolation period imposed by health authorities.

According to the agency, Jeon So-min has completed the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine and is currently showing no symptoms.

Jellyfish Entertainment also announced that Verivery member Dongheon “tested positive for Covid-19 via PCR testing on March 21st, 2022.”

“Dongheon tested positive for Covid-19 through rapid antigen test as a preemptive test and eventually received positive result vai PCR testing. Dongheon is fully vaccinated, received his 2nd Covid-19 immunization shot and is currently in self-quarantine,” it said.

Last March 16, Verivery members Kangmin, Gyehyeon, Minchan, Yeonho and Hoyoung tested positive for Covid-19. Including Dongheon, six of the seven members of Verivery now have Covid-19. Yongseung is the only one without the disease.

South Korea recorded 353,980 new Covid-19 cases on March 22 to bring the total confirmed cases to 9.93 million.

At least 245 Korean stars, mostly K-pop idols, have tested positive for Covid-19 since Jan. 19.
