BJMP, Rizal civic group donate blood at public hospital

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Knights of Rizal La Carcel Chapter joined forces for a blood donation campaign at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC).

BJMP chief Jail Director Allan Iral commended the efforts of the Knights of Rizal to call for volunteers and support the blood donation campaign of the Jail Bureau.

“Malaking bagay na nagkakaisa tayo sa adbokasiyang magdudugtong ng buhay ng kapwa natin lalo na ng mga batang maysakit sa PCMC (It is a major thing that we join hands in the advocacy that will lengthen the lives of our fellowmen especially of the sick children at the PCMC),’’ Iral stressed.

“Kaya nagpapasalamat tayo sa mga kasamahan natin sa Knights of Rizal La Carcel Chapter sa pagbibigay diin sa kahalagahan ng bolunterismo bilang mga blood donors natin (That is why I thank our fellow volunteers from the Knights of Rizal La Carcel Chapter in stressing the importance of volunteerism of being our blood donors),’’ he added.

At least 60 bags of blood were collected during the blood donation activity.

Knights of Rizal La Carcel Chapter Commander Clint Russel Tangeres reiterated “the value of heroism and patriotism of national hero Dr Jose Rizal in our daily lives.’’

“Ang buong puso nating pagtulong bilang mga blood donors ay isa sa mga halimbawa ng mabuting pagmamalasakit natin sa ating kapwa (Our wholehearted assistance of being blood donors is one of the examples of showing concern for our fellow men),’’ said Tangeres.

“Gaya ni Rizal, manatili sana tayong bukas ang puso at kaisipan upang tumulong sa ating kapwa (Like Rizal, let us open our hearts and minds to help others)”, he added.

The Knights of Rizal is a civic and patriotic organization recognized by law to spread the ideals, teachings and exemplary life of Dr Jose Rizal. (Chito A. Chavez)
