Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the designation of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) new liaison officer Ma. Leah Salvatierra at the Paranaque City Hall is a welcome development for the homeowners association (HOA) in the city.
Olivarez said Salvatierra was consulted by several HOAs during her visit to the Paranaque City Hall on March 15.
“The designation of Ms. Salvatierra as our new DHSUD liaison officer is a very welcome development especially for our HOAs and our homeowners, and proof of this is the large number of visitors she entertained on her first day with us,” according to Olivarez.
Salvatierra said she looks forward to assisting and consulting with more homeowners’ associations, as well as HOA federations and confederations, as part of DHSUD’s mandate to serve key constituents in Parañaque and other local government units.
“We are eager to meet our HOAs in Parañaque City to discuss issues affecting them, and to try to find solutions that will help keep harmony and peace in our communities which is also the primary goal of Mayor Olivarez and the LGU,” Salvatierra said.
Eva Nono, head of the city External and Homeowners’ Affairs Office (EHAO), said that Salvatierra will report at least twice a month to their office located at the 4th Floor of City Hall.
Nono said Salvatierra will be at the City Hall on March 22 and those who wish to consult with her should coordinate with EHAO for their schedule.
She said the liaison officer’s designation to Parañaque City was made under the provisions of Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2022, between the DHSUD and the Department of the Interior and Local Government which mandates, among others, DHSUD to provide technical assistance to HOAs, federations and confederations within their jurisdiction.
