“In the love arena, I cannot count how many budol moments I have had - na-ghosting na'ko, na 1-2-3, budol na budol, OMG! Maybe this is the reason why I am still so single," Rita Daniela, the talented singer of "All-Out Sundays," humorously tells Gossip Girl the painful truth.

The term “budol'' comes from the Hiligaynon language referring to a gang called “budol-budol” which specializes in conning victims to give their money or possessions. The basic modus is that the victim is convinced by the criminal entity that they are in urgent need of help or a unique opportunity is available. If the victim helps, there is a promise of a reward. All they need to do is hand over something valuable in exchange for what usually are fake bundles of cash. In the end, the criminals run off with the valuables, and the victim is left with the fake promise. So now budol is a term for any fake promise, whether it be a fake promise of love, debt, money, goods bought etc. Speaking of goods bought the singer-actress of GMA 7 had two "budol" moments online when she tried to buy in online sites, “The first was a phone I bought from an online site, they asked me for a down payment of P13,000 and when I transferred the money, they suddenly blocked me from buying in their site. The second was similar to the first, so nowadays I do not buy online anymore, unless it’s really a reputable site.”

Daniella’s YouTube account was also hacked, she already had one hundred thousand followers and suddenly one day the Rita YouTube account already became a cryptocurrency account. I asked her to report to YouTube, but she has a feeling that her partner's in that YouTube account had something to do with it, “It’s so unusual because my views would range from four hundred thousand to eight hundred thousand views, but I would not get anything from YouTube while my other friends were already monetizing. So I presume they had something to do with it. Another budol moment for me. It’s okay, I can always put up another account. ”

At twenty-six years old, Rita is now wiser and smarter and with all her “Budol” experiences whether it be love or money, she is thankful that she has passed through such Budol moments, so she can never be fooled again. In terms of people borrowing money from her nowadays, she has made it a promise to herself never to lend anyone money, “But I help if I deem the person really needs help. This help is of course something I will not expect a return.”

This kindness and sincerity of heart is what blesses this beautiful lady inside and out. Her career has been soaring for sixteen years thanks to GMA Sparkle Artists Center. My favorite role of Rita was when she portrayed “Aubrey”,  a pokpok or a floozy (a young woman who dresses and behaves in a sexually provocative way) in Ken Chan’s teleserye "My Special Tatay."
