Flying Titans, HD Spikers collide in battle of unbeaten teams

Choco Mucho and Cignal clash Tuesday in a battle of unbeaten teams in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Match is at 3 p.m. with the Flying Titans and the HD Spikers staking their 2-0 win-loss cards to gain the solo lead in Pool B.

Choco Mucho’s recent victory came at the expense of defending champion Chery Tiggo last Sunday where it threaded through the eye of the needle to prevail, 25-21, 16-25, 25-17, 17-25, 18-16. Its first win came from Army.

Cignal, for its part, showed they are a force to reckon with after slaying fancied Chery Tiggo and just over the weekend, F2 Logistics, 25-14, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18.

It would be a battle of hard-hitting spikers with Choco Mucho expecting to parade Kat Tolentino at the forefront of their attack, and Rachel Anne Daquis in front of Cignal’s offense.

But what is slated to be crucial would be their reinforcements as Choco Mucho has Aduke Ogunsanya, Cherry Rose Nunag, Bea De Leon and Deanna Wong against Cignal’s Ces Molina, Ria Meneses, Roselyn Doria and Angelica Cayuna.

Meanwhile, winless teams Army and Chery Tiggo collide at 6 p.m. with high hopes of finally nailing a victory.

Both teams tote 0-2 marks.
