Completion of Metro Manila bridge network part of Villar’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ promise
One of the election promises made by UniTeam Senate slate member Mark Villar includes the completion of the Metro Manila Logistics Infrastructure Network (MMLIN).

“Naaalala ko pa noong drawing pa lang ito. Ngayon, malapit na mapakinabangan ng mga Pilipino ang Binondo-Intramuros Bridge. Makakaasa po kayo na ilalaban natin sa Senado ang continuation ng Metro Manila Logistics Network Masterplan (I remember when this was just a mere drawing. Now, people will soon be able to use the Binondo-Intramuros bridge. I will fight to continue the MMLIN if elected to the Senate),” said the former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary in a press statement on Monday, March 21.
The MMLIN is a network of 12 bridges, six of which are situated over the Pasig River, four over the Marikina River, and two over the Manggahan Floodway. They were constructed in an attempt to provide alternate routes between main roads, with the primary goal of reducing traffic along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).
“Once all the bridges and links are up the end result is that EDSA will go back to its original capacity. My advocacy is to ensure the completion of projects like this," Villar said.
Villar is running for a Senate seat as part of the UniTeam slate, his main platform being the continuation of the Duterte administration’s flagship “Build, Build, Build” initiative,.
He previously claimed that 'Build, Build, Build" would continue only if the candidates of UniTeam were elected.
However, presidential candidates Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Ping Lacson, Senator Manny Pacquiao, and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso have said that they would continue the 'Build, Build, Build" initiative.
UniTeam is led by presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
