The former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary’s main platform focuses on continuing President Rodrigo Duterte’s “Build, Build, Build” initiative.

“Patuloy naming susuportahan ang mga pangunahing imprastraktura sa Bulacan. Ang mga natapos at mga kasalukuyang proyekto ay inaasahang makakatulong sa pagpapabuti ng sitwasyon ng trapiko sa lalawigan (We will continue to support key infrastructure in Bulacan. What has been finished and currently ongoing projects are expected to alleviate the traffic situation in the province), particularly in the first and second districts,” Villar said in a press statement on Sunday, March 20.

His press statement cites eight completed and ongoing infrastructural developments by the DPWH in Bulacan as key examples to what his platform could deliver, namely: the Plaridel Bypass Road; the Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road; the Ciudad de Victoria Interchange Bypass Road; the Angat Bridge along Plaridel Bypass Road; the San Jose Del Monte-Dona Remedios Trinidad Bypass Road; the Pandi Bypass Road Project; and the Pandi National High School.

“These public infrastructures will improve public mobility, productivity and help boost economic activity in the province... Ang bulacan ay may mahalagang kontribusyon para ikonekta at palawakin ang negosyo, trabaho, at iba pang oportunidad sa pagitan ng National Capital Region at sa buong bahagi ng Luzon (Bulacan has an important contribution in connecting and deepening business, employment, and other opportunities in NCR and Luzon),” Villar added.

Villar is a member of the UniTeam’s Senate slate. UniTeam is led by presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
