Pangilinan asks voters: If candidates don't show up, are they respecting you?
"Kapag hindi humarap, nirerespeto ba kayo (If they didn't show up, are they respecting you)?

Aspiring vice president Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan asked this to voters as he took a swipe at the absence of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte in the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-organized debate Sunday night, March 20.
Pangilinan said wooing the voters is like courting a person you like where showing up is an act of paying respect.
Kapag lumiligaw dapat humaharap (Mr. Marcos was not here last night, Sara Duterte is not here today, they are under the same ticket. You know we, as candidates, are courting the voters. When we are courting, we must show up)," he said.
I have three children, if someone is courting them, the pursuer must face us. Respect my children, respect the parents)," the lawmaker added.
Pangilinan then addressed the public and urged them to reflect on the thought as the May elections approach.
(If they don't show up, are they respecting us? To the voters, if they fail to show up, are they respecting you)?" Pangilinan asked.
