Boom suffers forfeiture vs NGX.SEA; Polaris sweeps T1

The top two teams in the DPC SEA Winter Tour Regional Finals suffered disappointing losses in their DPC SEA Spring Tour debut on Saturday, March 19.

Boom Esports' game against Nigma Galaxy SEA was forfeited due to technical difficulties which resulted to the latter winning the match by default.

In a statement, Boom apologized to its fans for the forfeiture and explained that the reason behind it was beyond its control.

“We’d like to extend our sincerest apology to all Hungry Beast fans for this technical issue. Unfortunately, this incident is beyond our control and we are doing everything we can to bring you the entertainment you deserve,” the statement read.

“This is a tough lesson to learn for us and we will do better in the future. Thank you for your understanding,” it ended.

NGX.SEA improved to a 1-1 record.

Polaris Esports, meanwhile, handed T1 a 2-0 sweep in its Spring Tour debut.

Polaris gave the The International 10 SEA representatives a run for its money as the duo of John Anthony “Natsumi” Vargas and Mc Nicholson “Lelouch” Villanueva proved to be too much for T1 in the two-game sweep.

The two provided the one-two punch with a deathless show in the series opener with a 6-0-14 KDA on Lelouch’s Pangolier and a 12-0-6 score on Natsumi’s Tiny in Polaris’ 24-3 rout of T1.

Polaris showed no let up in the second game as Natsumi continued to be a thorn to the side of T1 finishing with an impeccable 8-0-5 display on the Terrorblade.

Polaris, which hasn’t loss a single series since the Winter Tour where it also swept the Division II, led from the get go and never looked back to give T1’s new carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte a forgettable start in his first full FPC campaign with T1.

Polaris took the early lead in the standings with a clean 2-0 record.
