Rubbish fire marks start of Fire Prevention Month in Carmona, Cavite

CARMONA, Cavite -- A rubbish fire that ignited in Mountview 1 Industrial Complex in Barangay Bancal on Tuesday, March 1, marked the start of the Fire Prevention Month.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Carmona told the Manila Bulletin that the fire was reported at 10:07 a.m. and was extinguished at 11:40 a.m.

Three BFP fire trucks and four fire trucks from Barangays Bancal, Lantic, Mabuhay, and Milagrosa responded to the fire that razed a pile of rubbish in a vacant lot measuring around a hundred square meters.

There were no reported casualties.

BFP Carmona said it was not clear if the flames were caused by intentional garbage burning or by a lighted cigarette stick.
