DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) has a new regional director, following a turnover of command ceremony on Wednesday, March 2, at Camp Brig. Gen. Oscar Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union.
Brig. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque has replaced Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta as the Regional Director of the police forces in the provinces of La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Pangasinan.
Obinque, prior to assuming his role as regional director, was assigned to the Office of the Chief Philippine National Police (PNP).
Peralta, on the other hand, will be transferred to the PNP’s Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (HRDD).
Peralta assumed the position of regional director of PRO1 on Feb. 2, 2021.
In his message, Peralta expressed pride in the PRO1’s accomplishments during his one-year stint.
“With humility, I can say I did my best to achieve what I set out to do,” said Peralta.
As Obinque is installed during the election period, he emphasized the importance of the PNP remaining non-partisan in order to secure peaceful elections.
Obinque is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class ’92.
