ILOILO CITY — Malacañang has dismissed the administrative complaint against Mayor Ronnie Dadivas of Roxas City, the capital of Capiz province.
“Sa likod sang mga pagpatalang, pagpasibangod kag kabutigan para samaron ang akon integridad kag ngalan, ang Ginoo yara naga-ubay kag nagatoytoy sa akon agud magguwa ang kamatuoran (Behind the attempts to mislead, to blame, and the lies hurled to destroy my integrity and name, God is there to guide me to bring out the truth),” said Dadivas in a statement after receiving the findings from Malacañang on Wednesday, March 2.

To recall, Dadivas faced an administrative complaint last May 2021 for gross negligence and dereliction of official duties in relation to an investment scam that victimized many Capiz residents.
Complainant Manuel “Boy” Mejorada, who is a native of Capiz and the former provincial administrator of Iloilo provincial government, claimed that Roxas City under the administration of Dadivas allowed the operation of the illegal investment scheme by Patrocenio Chiyuto Jr. or more popularly known as “Don Chiyuto.”
“Subong nga adlaw sang Badlis, kabay ini nga mangin leksyon sa aton nga ang kabutigan kag pagpatalang indi gid magdaug batuk sa kamatuoran (On this Ash Wednesday, let this be a lesson that lies and misleading information cannot win against the truth),” Dadivas added.
Chiyuto is the CEO of Chiyuto Creative Wealth Document Facilitation Services which allegedly scammed Capiz residents of millions of pesos. This led to the revocation of the firm’s license by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Chiyuto’s firm was also fined P9 million.
Mejorada is currently in jail after the Supreme Court upheld the conviction of libel filed against him by Senator Franklin Drilon.
Mejorada, a former reporter and newspaper editor, was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) last November 2021.
