Ten drug suspects were arrested in a series of drug operations conducted by the police and seized P71, 680 worth of shabu in the cities of Las Pinas, Pasay, and Paranaque on Tuesday, March 1.
In Las Pinas City, Xander Cruz, 38, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. along Bernabe compound, Pulang Lupa 1 in possession of 2.3 grams of shabu worth P15,640.
In Pasay City, Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, said members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of four persons under the police drugwatch list.
Paday-os identified the suspects as Lawrence John Valencia, 24; Artiston Erison, 41, Glen Pahila, 41; and Eleonor Valencia, 50. They were arrested at about 8:20 p.m. along Pasillo 3 P Dandan St., Barangay 54, Zone 8 in possession of 3.8 grams of shabu worth P28,840.
Members of the SDEU in Paranaque arrested five drug suspects during a buy-bust operation conducted along Old Sucat Road, Barangay San Dionisio, at about 11:00 p.m.
The suspects were identified as Joan Palma, 27; Joey Dacayan, 26; Nieymar Salcedo, 27; Joey Abela, 34; and and Efren Vicente, 26. Confiscated from the suspects was 4 grams of shabu worth P27,200.
Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the confiscated shabu were all brought to the SPD Forensic Office for chemical analysis.
Macaraeg said the arrested suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and will be charged for violation of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He also asked the police to continue the intensified battle against illegal drugs and criminality.
