In fact, she was part of the Philippine Team at one point, representing the country in competitions held in Thailand, Malaysia, China, and Japan.

Ashley related how figure skating has helped her "grow" as a "strong woman."

"It made me realize that I was born to entertain & perform in front of an audience," she added. "Even though I started my career in showbiz and halted skating for a while, I was still entertaining people through acting."

"Figure Skating is and will always be where I first realized my confidence and persevering attitude," she declared.

Meanwhile, Ashley, who has been skating twice a week, gave some advice to aspirants who want to follow in her footsteps.

"Always put in the work," she said. "Liking what you do--being passionate about it--is simply not enough to excel at what you do. A lot of hard work, effort and dedication is especially needed in the sports business. At the end of the day, the secret to success is to deserve it."

In terms of her acting career, Ashley admitted she didn't celebrate her 10th year in the business.

Though she keeps on telling herself that she loves what she does and she still wants to continue learning new things about her craft.

"There’s so much more to learn in my acting career," she related, pointing out that she plans to go as far as she can as an actress.

She's grateful that her career is currently doing good.

"I'm really proud that our show, 'Widows’ Web,' is rating well. We really gave our best to put in a good show for our viewers," Ashley maintained.

According to her, she's really thankful that she was given a chance to star in a "great" show with "amazing" actors and directors.

"I’ll always be thankful that I got to take part in the very first suspenserye of GMA."

Ashley admitted that her role as Jackie Sagrado was a "challenging" one.

"It’s actually the most mature role I’ve done in GMA and I really had to put in so much effort to be able to give my role justice," she said, adding she prepared physically, emotionally and mentally for her role to achieve a "gracefully strong and independent character."
