QCPD medical unit vaccinates over 200 kids aged 5-11 against Covid-19

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) vaccinated a total of 247 minors aged five to 11 years old against Covid-19 on Saturday, March 19.

The vaccination was held at the QCPD Medical and Dental Unit (DMDU) parking area where a total of 150 children received their second dose, while 97 got their initial jabs.

“Ang pagbabakuna sa mga kabataan ay ang pinakamahusay na paraan upang protektahan sila, ang kanilang pamilya, at mga kaibigan laban sa banta ng Covid-19. Sa pagkakataong maiturok sa kanila ang bakuna ay mas mapaiigting pa ang kanilang kaligtasan sa pakikibahagi nila sa mga pang-araw-araw na aktibidad (The children’s vaccination is the best way to protect them, their family, and friends against Covid-19. Once they get vaccinated, they are more protected as they participate in their daily activities” QCPD director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said.

Personnel from the DMDU thoroughly checked the conditions, identities, ages, and medical histories of the kids before giving their Covid-19 jabs. The minors were given the Pfizer, Astrazenica, and Sinovac vaccine brands.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa kooperasyon at suporta ng mga magulang o tagapag-alaga ng mga kabataang lumahok sa akdibidad natin sa araw na ito. Salamat sa inyong pakikiisa sa ating layuning magsilbi at protektahan ang bawat tao, hindi lamang laban sa kriminalidad, kundi kontra na rin sa Covid-19 (We thank the parents and guardians of the children who joined the activity today for their support and cooperation. Thank you for your solidarity with our goal to serve and protect everyone, not only against crime but also against Covid-19),” Medina said.

The children were reminded that their second vaccine dose must be of the same brand as their first dose to get the full protection against the virus.
