Party-list solon gets 'halo-halo' lessons from ex-prez Arroyo

There's probably no better person to teach you about the delicacies of Pampanga than former president and House speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Reelectionist Kusug Tausug Party-list Rep. Shermee Tan-Tambut learned about this first-hand during her recent visit to the province wherein native Arroyo told her about a local summer favorite--Kabigting's halo-halo.

"In this photo, President Gloria was telling me that it is very famous because it is made of pastillas milk. Ang sarap naman talaga! (It's really good!) Thats why when you go to Pampanga, don’t forget to try Kabigting’s Halo-Halo! Also in the photo are Mayor Bon Alejandrino and Vice Mayor Madir Alejandrino of Arayat, Pampanga. Previous posts from Tan-Tambut reveals that she is still on cloud nine following her Pampanga visit which led to her bonding time with the ex-president and another local political heavyweight in former governor Lilia Pineda.

"Last Saturday morning we were invited by Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda to an event in Pampanga together with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Maraming maraming salamat po Pampanga! " the congresswoman wrote.

Together with the former President, Tan-Tambut and her team went to Pampanga again on March 10 to speak at the well-attended induction of officers of the Federation of Muslim Communities in Pampanga, Inc. in Mabalacat City, after which the group dropped by Angeles City to meet with Mayor Pogi Lazatin.

Tan-Tambut then returned to Arayat for the inauguration and blessing of the town’s sports complex, upon the invitation of Arayat Mayor Bon Alejandrino and Vice Mayor Madeth Alejandrino.

Tan-Tambut is the youngest daughter of Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan and sister of Sulu 1st district Rep. Samier Tan.

In three of her four Pampanga visits, the party-list solon was accompanied by her husband, Captain Marjani “John” Tambut, who also hails from a political family. Captain Tambut’s father, Benzar, is running for mayor of Simunul town, Tawi-tawi.
