Leni-Kiko tandem gets support of Pinoy actuaries

Another group declared their support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan, this time it’s the country’s actuaries backing their tandem.

Some 60 Filipino actuaries came out to support Robredo’s and Pangilinan’s quests for presidency and vice presidency, respectively, in the upcoming May polls.

In a statement released by the Robredo camp on Saturday, March 19, the group said she is a “once in a lifetime servant leader who best listens to and engages with the stakeholders.”

They added the presidential aspirant has a “clear systematic and practical series of plans” for the country to move forward in the most difficult times, and she “inspires each Filipino to hope, to dream and to accomplish great things.”

These actuaries are trained in the application of mathematical and statistical processes to manage financial risks.

They made an appeal to voters to look into the platforms, track record, and accomplishments of Robredo and Pangilinan throughout their years as public servants.

In their campaign rallies, Robredo has been giving a message of clean and competent governance to replace the old system of transactional patronage politics. She said the change can only happen with people’s support.

The tandem also promises to provide the country with a government that is faithful to its oath of service, truthful to is principles, and loyal to the Filipinos.

Robredo’s candidacy is buoyed by endorsements from various sectors who have publicly released statements of support for her presidential bid.

In the past weeks, the Vice President has secured endorsements from the academe, economists, retired generals, youth, priests, lawyers, human rights defenders, ex-officials of the United Nations (UN) system in the Philippines, and former high-ranking government officials.

She was also recently endorsed by Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone, the vice president of the ruling PDP-Laban in Visayas and a known ally of Duterte. Northern Samar Gov. Edwin Ongchuan also followed his endorsement of Robredo.
