Ex-barangay chairman nabbed in buy-bust operation in Isabela

ISABELA – A former barangay chairman was arrested in an anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation along the national hi-way in Brgy. Sipay, City of Ilagan.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives who carried out the operation with the assistance from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as Rodolfo Deogracias, 54, a resident of Brgy. Namnama, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

Seized from the suspect were a piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected to be "shabu" weighing 0.08 grams , one unit keypad cellphone, a black wallet with only IDs in it, cash and a unit of EURO motorcycle.

DOJ representatives, barangay officials and media representatives were present during the inventory.

Ilagan City Police said that the suspect belongs to the street level individual (SLI) ready for listing on the Drug Watchlist of Personalities.

Deogracias will be charged for Violation of Sec 5, RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002.
