PH Army launches integrated Covid-19 info system

More than two years since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country in 2020, the Philippine Army (PA) launched an integrated information system on Thursday, March 17, to organize its efforts to curb the coronavirus in the military organization.

Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., PA commanding general, said the Covid-19 integrated information system is designed to strengthen the PDITR (prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, and reintegration) strategy of the military as cases see slight uptick in parts of the country.

“We can collectively benefit from robust analyses, real-time performance dashboards, and data-driven decisions instead of arbitrary, whimsical, and knee-jerk responses,” Brawner said.

The Covid-19 integrated information system combines all the pandemic-related monitoring systems of the Army namely the PA Molecular Laboratory Information System, the PA Covid-19 tracker, and the PA Covid-19 Telemedicine Information System.

The Army’s Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel (OG1, PA) held a live demonstration of the integrated system during the 14th Senior Leaders Conference at the PA Officers Clubhouse in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Covid-19 cases are once again seeing a slight increase in some parts of the country as the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the highly transmissible Omicron variant remains a threat globally.
