Most of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions this weekend because of the prevalence of the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday afternoon, March 18.
In its extended weather outlook for key areas from March 19 to 22, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 33-34 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 32-34℃ in Tuguegarao City, 25-26℃ in Baguio City, 31-32℃ in Tagaytay City, 30-31℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 30-31℃ in Metro Cebu, 31-32℃ in Metro Davao, and 32-33℃ in Zamboanga City.
While partly cloudy to cloudy skies are likely to prevail, PAGASA still advised the public to stay vigilant because of occurrence of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms that may trigger flash floods or landslides in areas that are susceptible to these hazards.
Higher moisture levels and warmer temperatures usually cause isolated afternoon or evening rain showers and thunderstorms during the dry season.
PAGASA declared the official start of the dry season in the country on March 16, signaling warm weather in the coming weeks.
