Man shot dead near his house in Tondo

A 54-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified gunman near his house at Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila on Thursday, March 17.

Police Lt. Adonis Aguila, chief of Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section, identified the victim as Solayman Malges, a resident of Purok 2, Isla Puting Bato.

According to the police report, the victim had just stepped out of his house at 11:50 a.m. when he was shot three times by a man described as about 30 to 35 years old, wearing a dirty white shirt and a bull cap.

Police investigators said the shooting might be related to illegal drugs.

Residents in the area told the police that the victim allegedly had an argument with a man on Wednesday evening, March 16.
