Man arrested for molesting 7-year-old boy behind mall in Manila

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, March 17, allegedly for molesting a seven-year-old boy behind a mall on C. M. Recto Avenue in Manila.

The suspect was identified as Ivan (surname withheld), former tricycle driver, a resident of Baseco Compound in Binondo, police said.

Based on the initial report of Manila Police District (MPD), operatives of the Moriones Police Station apprehended the suspect after the video showing him molesting a minor went viral on social media.

The victim was the son of the live-in partner of the suspect, police said.

During questioning at the police station, the suspect admitted that he was under the influence of illegal drugs when he committed the crime.

Meanwhile, the victim is currently under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for counseling.
