A fire hit a residential area in Taguig before midnight on March 17, razing 70 houses and affecting about 300 families.
According to the Taguig City Fire Station, the fire started at about 10:51 p.m. at No. 10 Tawi Tawi St., Barangay Maharlika Village.



The first alarm was raised at 10:58 p.m. followed by a second alarm at 11:08 p.m. and third alarm at 11:18 p.m.
The fire station reported that the fire affected about 70 houses with 300 families or 900 individuals. The damage to properties was estimated at P750,000. No one was injured in the blaze.
A total of 71 fire trucks responded to the incident, coming from different fire stations in Metro Manila, local government units and volunteer groups.
The fire was put under control at 12:40 a.m. and was put out at 1:37 a.m. Investigators are determining the origin and cause of the fire.
