A total of 39 contact tracers (CTs) in Isabela were recently rehired and re-oriented on the latest Covid-19 health protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Managing Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Friday, March 18.

The CTs were convened by the DILG-Isabela who were updated with the most recent IATF-MEID guidelines on the nationwide implementation of the Covid-19 Alert Level System.
In the said program, Isabela Provincial Director Corazon D. Toribio cited all the CTs for their “incessant efforts and contributions as part of the government’s Covid-19 response.’’
Toribio also emphasized the importance of being vigilant against the uptick of cases in some parts of the country amid the World Health Organization's warning that a resurgence of Omicron cases is happening in different parts of the world, including Asia.
The DILG is rehiring contact tracers in recognition of their critical role in preventing the Covid-19 transmission chain and assisting the local government units (LGUs) in their contact tracing efforts.
Out of the 181 CTs hired last year, only 39 were rehired after being assessed by the Local Health Officers/Local Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Heads.
