Actor arrested for allegedly assaulting girlfriend in Tagaytay

An actor was arrested by members of the Tagaytay City Police Station (CPS) for allegedly physically assaulting his girlfriend in a hotel on Friday, March 18.

According to a press release from the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A), the suspect was identified as Keith Thompson, an actor and a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga.

Based on the statement given by the victim, the suspect mauled her at the peak of their misunderstanding.

The police rescued the victim after receiving a 911 call.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Thompson is in the custody of the Tagaytay CPS.

The incident is still under further investigation, the police said.

Gen. Antonio Yarra, the new regional director of the PRO 4A, said that details of the case such as the identities of those involved will be kept confidential.

"I will take this chance to call on other women who are victims of violence not to be afraid and report immediately to the nearest police station their situation. Kagaya na lamang po ng biktima sa insidenteng ito, agad na nabigyan ng aksyon at hindi na umabot pa sa mas marahas na sitwasyon (Just like this incident, we were able to respond immediately and prevent a worse outcome)," Yarra said.
