300 urban poor IPs benefit from PCUP's Disaster Resilience Caravan

A total of 300 urban poor indigenous people (IPs) residing in Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan have benefited from the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor’s (PCUP) Disaster Resilience Caravan, the Commission announced on Friday, March 18.

The Disaster Resilience Caravan aims to educate the public, especially the urban poor in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, in terms of preparedness and vigilance in times of calamity.

“Isa ang naturang lugar sa naapektuhan ng bagyong Odette kung saan marami ang hindi handa sa pagdating nito. Ito ay isa sa mga dahilan ni PCUP Chairperson at Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Undersecretary Alvin Feliciano upang bumuo ng mga programang tutugon sa kahandaan ng mga maralita sa mga kalamidad at sakuna (The area is one of the places that was ravaged by typhoon Odette where many were unprepared for its arrival. Aside from the disaster preparedness training, basic supply kits containing emergency materials and non-perishable goods were also distributed to each participant.
