OCTA: Quezon City now 'very low risk' for Covid-19

With an average number of 25 new Covid-19 cases per day over the past week, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David on Thursday, March 17, said that Quezon City is now “very low risk” for Covid-19.

From March 10 to March 16, Quezon City’s number of new Covid-19 infections has been averaging to only 25 per day.

“This is equivalent to an ADAR of just 0.79 per 100,000 people per day, putting Quezon City in the very low risk category,” said David in a tweet.

David likewise disclosed that the reproduction number in Quezon City has been steady at 0.23 while its one week growth rate stood at -22 percent.

Although the national Covid-19 data is not yet available, David said that on average, the number of new cases in Quezon City has been around 16 percent of Metro Manila’s numbers.

“This projects to a seven-day average of around 154 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR). This would mean that NCR remains at low risk,” he explained.

The region’s category is now close to the “very low risk” classification. It only needs an ADAR below 1 to attain the category, said David.
