Cargo Movers aim for 2-0 start in PVL

F2 Logistics guns for an early solo lead while Choco Mucho starts its title bid when they collide with separate rivals Friday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Cargo Movers square off with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at 6 p.m. seeking to follow up their 25-15, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22 victory over the Black Mamba Army Troopers in Wednesday’s opener.

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans, meanwhile, tangle with the Army Troopers at 3 p.m. hoping to join the early winners.

But the spotlight is on newcomer F2 Logistics, which showed why they are a force to reckon with after delivering that four-set victory over the Troopers.

Kim Dy, who was adjudged Best Player in that match, is expected to banner the Cargo Movers anew after pumping in 20 points on 15 attacks, four blocks and one ace.

Reinforcement will also come from Ara Galang and Majoy Baron, who finished with 11 and 10 points against Army.

The defending champion Chery Tiggo, meanwhile, aims to move on from a stinging 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-18 upset defeat over Cignal HD Wednesday night.

Giving up 36 points on errors, the Crossovers have to adjust quickly to avoid a 0-2 hole.

The duo of Dindin Manabat and Mylene Paat will continue to fuel Chery Tiggo after combining for 24 points over Cignal.

In the other pairing, Choco Mucho will parade a formidable crew composed of Bea De Leon, Des Cheng, Isa Molde, Aduke Ogunsanya, Kat Tolentino, Denden Revilla and Deanna Wong.

Army, for its part, pins its hopes on Royse Tubino, who carried most of the load in its first match by firing 18 points.
